At Leigh Trust, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to flourish.
We are a values-led Multi-Academy Trust comprising seven primary schools across Birmingham and the West Midlands. Our vision is to be a flourishing family of schools, continually striving for excellence – where children, staff and communities thrive.
As we continue to develop and grow, we are looking to welcome new Trustees to our Board who can bring fresh perspectives, professional expertise and a shared commitment to making a meaningful difference.
Who are we looking for?
We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with experience in:
- Human Resources: People strategy, organisational development, employment relations and workforce planning.
- Finance: Financial leadership, strategic planning, audit and risk management.
- Legal: Legal practice, regulatory compliance, corporate governance and risk.
You do not need to have worked in education or have previous trustee experience. What matters is your ability to think strategically, ask constructive questions, exercise sound judgement and share our commitment to improving opportunities for children.
What does being a Trustee involve?
As a Trustee, you will help shape our strategic direction, provide constructive challenge and support to executive leaders, and contribute to effective governance and oversight.
The commitment includes:
- Six meetings per year, with opportunities to attend virtually or through hybrid arrangements, depending on location.
- One face-to-face strategic day annually, bringing Trustees and leaders together to reflect, plan and shape the Trust's future.
- Three additional meetings per year if you choose to serve on one of our Board committees.
- Time to read papers, contribute to discussions and support the work of the Board.
This is a voluntary, non-executive role offering an opportunity to use your professional skills to make a lasting difference, while gaining valuable governance experience.
