Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 37 weeks per year

SGS Create provides a school-like environment within a college setting, offering an inclusive and nurturing space for students who have found mainstream education challenging. Many of our learners are neurodiverse, have EHCPs, or have experienced barriers to learning. With small class sizes, strong pastoral support, and a focus on vocational as well as academic development, we help every learner rediscover confidence, connection, and purpose.

SGS Create teaching staff and corporate staff will be allocated 13 weeks holidays each academic year, only to be taken in line with the school holiday term breaks. Some cover might be needed during term breaks but this will be with prior agreement. A full- time teaching timetable would be 25 hours timetable per week to allow for PPA, over 39 teaching weeks, this will be reduced to reflect any agreed remission allocated for specific roles or responsibilities. We are excited to offer the opportunity to join SGS Create, a unique and growing 14-16 provision based at SGS College's Stroud Campus.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in enabling young people with additional needs to access learning, achieve their goals, and develop independence. You will work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to provide high-quality in-class and out-of-class support - both one-to-one and in small groups - for learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) or other identified needs.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Supporting learners across curriculum and vocational sessions to achieve their EHCP outcomes and qualifications
Promoting inclusion, independence, and emotional wellbeing
Assisting with personal care or manual handling where required
Maintaining accurate records of support provided
Contributing to learner reviews, planning meetings, and transition support
Upholding safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards in all aspects of your work

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

Has experience working with young people aged 14-18 with additional needs and/or EHCPs (education, care, or community backgrounds all considered)
Brings strong communication and teamwork skills
Can adapt quickly to different learners and situations
Shows initiative, empathy, and a genuine commitment to improving young people's lives through learning
Holds GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade 4 (or Level 2) - or is willing to work towards them
Values diversity and inclusion, and models positivity and professionalism
