Required from September 2027 We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational head of modern foreign languages (MFL) from September 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead our thriving MFL department, which offers a rich and diverse languages curriculum. The head of MFL directly line manages all MFL teachers. Six languages are currently taught within the school: Chinese, French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish.
The head of MFL is ably supported in their work by the deputy head of MFL, heads of Chinese, French, German, Italian and Spanish, the Russian coordinator and the MFL exams coordinator.
The successful candidate will teach highly motivated pupils across a range of year groups from year 7 up to the sixth form, playing a key role in shaping teaching and learning within our warm, ambitious and dynamic community.
As well as teaching lessons in their specialist subject area(s), the successful candidate will be expected to make a meaningful contribution to the broader life of the school, including as a pastoral tutor and within the school's wide-ranging co-curricular programme.
