Wellington College is a world-leading independent boarding and day school. We are a dynamic, values-led community where ambition and collaboration drive excellence across academic life, sport, and the wider school community.
Located in Crowthorne, Berkshire, with train and bus links providing easy access to transport connections, our 400 acre estate is a unique and inspiring place to work.
You will play an important role in our school community, working alongside dedicated colleagues to ensure the smooth and effective running of Wellington. Your contribution will directly support pupils, staff, and visitors every day, and you will have access to development opportunities that help you grow in your career.
Wellington College is seeking an organised and dependable Team Secretary to support a small, forward-looking team developing its work on Human Flourishing in the Age of AI. This is a part-time position of 10 hours per week, worked across Monday to Friday at regular agreed times, with flexibility to work between the College and remotely.
The team is shaping an educational approach that responds thoughtfully to the opportunities and challenges of an increasingly digital world. Drawing on emerging international thinking, including the OECD framework for Human Flourishing Education, its work aims to help young people thrive while building on the College’s established educational values. The postholder will play an important role in ensuring that this work is well coordinated and that colleagues, partners and projects are supported with care and efficiency.
Working closely with the wider Wellington College Education team, you will organise meetings, prepare relevant materials, maintain clear records of actions and communicate professionally with internal and external contacts. You will also provide administrative and diary support for Michael Stevenson’s Wellington-based work, helping with the practical arrangements that enable priorities to progress smoothly. At different points, the role may also contribute to project activity, including event coordination and online updates.
A key part of the post will be building effective working relationships with colleagues across the College, Wellington College International and partner organisations, as well as maintaining regular liaison with Sir Anthony Seldon’s PA. The successful candidate will be comfortable handling sensitive information with discretion and will bring sound judgement to a role involving varied stakeholders and changing priorities.
This opportunity would suit someone who takes pride in accurate, high-quality administrative work and can work confidently both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Strong written and verbal communication, excellent organisation and confidence using Microsoft applications are essential. Experience or interest in education or AI would be welcome, but the most important qualities are reliability, adaptability and a genuine commitment to supporting work of lasting educational value.
At Wellington, you'll be part of a supportive school community where your work makes a meaningful difference every day. You will collaborate with dedicated colleagues and have opportunities for professional development that help you continue to build your skills and confidence.
