Job Description Roles and Responsibilities:Teaching & Learning- Plan, teach, and assess engaging, concept-driven units in accordance with the PYP framework.
- Use inquiry-based pedagogies that promote student voice, choice, agency, and deep understanding.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including English language learners.
- Integrate literacy, numeracy, transdisciplinary learning, and Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills.
- Embed formative and summative assessment practices to inform learning and support progress.
- Maintain high expectations for student behaviour, learning, and wellbeing.
Curriculum & Planning- Contribute to collaborative unit planning using the PYP Programme of Inquiry (POI).
- Ensure documentation of learning is accurate, timely, and aligned with IB standards.
- Participate in curriculum reviews and school improvement initiatives.
- Use data to monitor students' growth and adjust teaching accordingly.
Student Support & Wellbeing- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment grounded in respect and care.
- Provide pastoral support as a homeroom teacher, promoting the IB Learner Profile.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding student progress.
- Support students in developing international mindedness and intercultural understanding.
Professional Responsibilities- Participate in professional learning sessions, workshops, and IB training.
- Engage in reflective practice and collaborative teamwork across the PYP division.
- Uphold Westlink International School's policies, safeguarding standards, and code of conduct.
Wider School Contributions- Participate actively in school events, activities, assemblies, and celebrations.
- Lead or support co-curricular activities (CCAs), clubs, or after-school programmes as required.
- Contribute to the development of a positive, professional school culture aligned with Westlink's values.
- Support whole-school initiatives, including community engagement, service learning, and international-mindedness projects.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to strengthen continuity between PYP, bilingual programmes, and MYP pathways.
- Represent the school positively in interactions with parents, partners, and the broader community.
Qualifications & Experience Required:- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching primary-aged students.
- Strong understanding of inquiry-based teaching and learning.
Preferred:- Experience in an IB PYP school.
- Experience in an international or multicultural context.
- Training in the PYP or other international curricula.
