PE TeacherTeaching & Learning- Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons across Primary and Secondary year groups.
- Promote participation, enjoyment, and skill development in a wide range of sports and physical activities.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of varying age groups and abilities.
- Ensure lessons are safe, structured, and inclusive for all students.
- Use appropriate teaching strategies to develop fitness, coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Curriculum & Planning- Deliver a structured PE curriculum appropriate for whole school age ranges.
- Plan progression of skills from Early Years/Primary through to Secondary.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and continuity across year groups.
- Support the development of sports programmes, fixtures, and school teams.
Student Support & Wellbeing- Encourage active participation and positive attitudes towards physical activity.
- Support students' physical, emotional, and social development through sport.
- Promote values such as resilience, teamwork, discipline, and fair play.
- Identify and support students who require additional encouragement or adaptation.
Assessment & Reporting- Assess student progress in line with school PE curriculum expectations.
- Provide feedback on skill development, effort, and participation.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and engagement.
- Contribute to reports and parent communication where required.
Professional Contribution- Lead or support co-curricular sports activities, school teams, and events.
- Participate in sports days, inter-school competitions, and school events.
- Contribute to whole-school initiatives promoting health and wellbeing.
- Engage in CPD and collaborate with colleagues across campuses/subjects.
Safeguarding, Health & Safety- Ensure all PE activities are conducted safely with proper risk assessments.
- Always follow safeguarding procedures.
- Maintain safe use of equipment and facilities.
- Supervise students appropriately during lessons, fixtures, and activities.
Person SpecificationEssential Qualifications & Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field.
- Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
- Experience teaching PE across multiple age ranges (Primary and/or Secondary).
- Strong understanding of sports, fitness, and physical development principles.
Desirable Skills & Competencies:- Ability to coach multiple sports.
- Strong classroom and activity management skills.
- Enthusiastic, energetic, and able to motivate students of all ages.
- Strong teamwork and organisational skills.
- Experience in leading school sports teams or events.
