Job Description Key Responsibilities 1. Instructional Leadership Programme Management- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the IB Diploma Programme (DP).
- Ensure alignment with International Baccalaureate Organization standards and requirements.
Lead IB evaluation processes. 2. Academic Coordination- Coordinate DP curriculum planning and delivery across all subject areas.
- Coordinate articulation and ensure consistency across the continuum, collaborating closely with the MYP and PYP coordinators.
- Monitor student progress, academic performance, and wellbeing.
- Monitor timely completion of course work
- Ensure proper implementation of core components:
- Theory of Knowledge (TOK)
- Extended Essay (EE)
- Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)
3. Staff Support & Development- Provide guidance and training for DP teachers.
- Engage and model Learning visits and post visit feedback as tools to support improvements in teaching and learning.
- Facilitate IB professional development opportunities.
- Support teachers in curriculum design, assessment, and best practices.
- Coaching and mentoring teachers.
- Monitor the effective follow-up of internal assessments and ensure consistency in the internal assessment deadline calendar.
- Lead strategies to ensure student preparedness for external assessments, including the coordination of targeted practice opportunities.
4. Student Guidance- Advise students on subject selection and IB requirements.
- Support students with university applications and academic planning.
- Monitor academic integrity and adherence to IB policies.
- Engage with parents to inform about IB programs, guide in the subject selection process and provide support with academic challenges
5. Assessment & Compliance- Ensure accurate administration of IB assessments and examinations.
- Maintain records and submit required documentation to the IB.
- Ensure compliance with IB policies and deadlines.
- Use student data to inform decisions or drive improvement.
6. Communication- Act as the primary liaison between the school and the IB.
- Communicate programme expectations to students, parents, and staff.
- Organize staff and parent meetings, workshops, and information sessions.
7. Administrative Duties- Manage IB-related documentation, reports, and data.
- Coordinate exam schedules and logistics.
- Support school leadership with strategic planning related to the DP.
- Enroll IB Students in iSams
- Map DP gradebooks
- Monitor timely grade input
Skills, Qualifications and Experience The successful candidate will possess and be able to demonstrate: - Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred).
- Two years experienced with the Diploma Programme.
- IB Examiner
- Strong knowledge of IB standards and practices.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong communication skills in English & Spanish.
