Teaching and Learning- Plan, prepare, and deliver effective lessons in Psychology for students at GCSE and A Level, ensuring clear learning objectives and measurable outcomes.
- Use a range of pedagogical approaches to engage students of varying abilities and learning styles.
- Prepare students thoroughly for internal assessments and public examinations, maintaining high academic standards.
- Integrate cultural and contemporary Psychology topics to enhance student engagement and intercultural awareness.
Pastoral Care and Student Welfare- Support the pastoral care of students, promoting their personal, social, and emotional well-being.
- Participate in school events, trips, and extracurricular activities related to French language and culture.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a strong sense of community.
Professional Conduct and Development- Uphold the values, ethos and reputation of The British School of Geneva in all professional interactions.
- Comply with the School's policies on safeguarding, health and safety, equality, inclusion and professional conduct.

Key Responsibilities- Teach Psychology to students at GCSE and A Level, following the relevant Pearson Edexcel curriculum.
- Develop and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that foster students' competence and appreciation of Psychology.
- Prepare students thoroughly for internal assessments and public examinations, ensuring high academic standards and measurable progress.
- Contribute to the planning, development, and review of the Psychology curriculum within the Department.
- Provide regular feedback, reports, and assessments to students and parents, supporting each learner's academic and personal growth.
- Participate in departmental and whole-school meetings, professional development, and collaborative projects.
- Promote a positive learning environment that reflects the values and ethos of the British School of Geneva.
- Support school events, trips, and extracurricular activities.
Qualifications and Experience- Bachelor's degree or higher in Psychology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Proven experience teaching Psychology at GCSE and A Level (or equivalent secondary level).
- Strong knowledge of British curriculum assessment objectives and examination requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Commitment to inclusive education and differentiation to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- High level of fluency in English (native or near-native proficiency) and strong command of French.
- Experience in an international or multicultural school environment is an advantage.
- Assess and monitor student learning and progress.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
- A proven facility with using relevant Information technology and complying with in-house systems of recordkeeping.
- A proven ability to provide additional contribution to student experience beyond the mainstream curriculum.
- A 10 Year Personal Background Police Clearance record (to include International child protection certificate or equivalent).
- 2 written references from Referees.
- A current Work Permit to work in Switzerland.
