Job Description Purpose of RoleThe Head Inclusion will be a key member of both the Primary and Secondary Leadership teams. She will work closely with both Vice Principals and Deputy Heads to establish the systems, structures and processes to enable all girls to access the curriculum and achieve. She will be a highly visible and engaging ambassador for the school and a credible role model with experience in leadership in either / or a Head of EAL or SENCO role. The Head Inclusion will promote the values, ethos and philosophy of the school and the vision and values set out by the school and ensuring Qatari National Identity and values are at the center of all we do.
DSGD Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Direction, Development and Accountability - To develop and promote a vision for both SEND and EAL provision that is innovative, irresistible and distinctive across the whole school.
- As a member of the SLT to be involved in formulating, and having the responsibility of delivering, the strategic goals of the school.
- To be a highly visible presence and lead by example, providing inspiration and motivation.
- To inspire and enthuse members of the team, with a clear vision for the direction of the provision of EAL and SEND.
- Lead on related CPD with staff including team teaching and lesson observations where appropriate
- To line manage the department's staffing including SENCO and any dedicated departmental staff
- Along with the SENCOs manage the identification and intervention support of additional learning needs including, but not limited to; SEND, EAL, Learning Support and Physical Challenges.
- • To implement innovative initiatives to contribute to student success and wellbeing and ensure that UK and International educational developments are implemented where relevant
- To ensure that school's policies and strategies are embedded throughout the school
- To contribute to the school's, produce an annual development review and strategic plan for improvement.
- To establish and maintain a climate within the school of positivity and inclusivity where pupils feel safe and secure, ensuring excellent behaviour and progress.
- To oversee pupil progress of SEND pupils, along with the SENCOs and Deputy Heads Academic and lead on data discussions where necessary
- Along with the Principal, lead on establishing alternative income streams that both support and the girls and bring in revenue to the school.
Leadership and Management - Along with the SENCOs, to organize the initial assessment of pupils, and to oversee with the writing ng of Individual Education Plans for each pupil and regularly review the interventions that are in place.
- Along with the SENCOs, work with the Examinations Officer to ensure that all possible examination concessions are in place.
- Along with the SENCOs, to create an effective dialogue between parents and school and pupil and school, reporting to and informing parents of the stage of support appropriate to their child. To formulate and maintain close links with outside agencies.
- Work with SENCOs and any other assigned staff and teachers to monitor differentiation and the implementation of IEPs.
- Along with the SENCOs, to inform teaching staff of policies/developments/procedures, and the needs of individual pupils.
- To be responsible for the day-to-day organisation and management of assigned staff and pupils as appropriate.
- Liaise with Heads of Year, EYFS and Sixth Form or those with delegated responsibilities on the progress of SEN pupils
- Create a culture where collaborative, progressive learning is highly valued amongst staff and students, be engaging, possess excellent communication skills and have strong emotional intelligence.
- To lead and manage the Learning Support and EAL team, in liaison with the Deputy Heads and Vice Principals
- Provide leadership, vision and direction that supports innovative teaching and learning, and secures the delivery of high standards of achievement, which is fulfilling and engaging for all students and staff
- To deal positively and proactively with parents and pupils and address any concerns or complaints effectively and in a timely manner.
- To oversee the budget for SEND and EAL
- Work with the Principal and SLT to manage accurate and timely appraisal and performance management systems, which includes quality coaching and mentoring and appropriate professional development for all staff, in line with the school development plan and performance management processes
- To empower staff to develop their leadership potential by delegating tasks effectively
- To lead regular meetings and attend and data and other meetings as required
- To work closely with the Vice Principals and Deputy Heads to monitor and evaluate teaching and learning as appropriate
Admissions and Marketing - To support the marketing of the school through attendance and, where required, presentations at events including Open Mornings and online events
- Along with the Deputy Heads and Vice Principals, create and implement a series of parental engagement events which will not only aid retention of current pupils and academic progress.
- To contribute to marketing materials
- Ensuring relevant background information about individual children is collected, recorded upon admission and updated as appropriate
- To work with Admissions and be involved in the assessing of potential new pupils as appropriate and assess suitability for chosen courses.
Teaching and Learning- To work with teachers to ensure that Quality First Teaching is being delivered, suitable to the needs of all pupils in the school.
- Ensure that SEN pupils have full access to the curriculum. To advise and guide staff with the implementation of differentiated resources and schemes of work in accordance with school policy.
- Ensure a safe and productive learning environment that is engaging and fulfilling for all students, monitoring and evaluating the curriculum to ensure it remains relevant and delivers quality and value for money
- Act as an excellent role model for the staff and students, promoting excellence, quality, and high expectations by ensuring the highest levels of quality teaching in own classes, and a continuing desire to improve and learn
- Assist the development and implementation of differentiated scaffolded learning opportunities and strategies to support the needs of all students
Pastoral Care - Work along with the Deputy Heads (Pastoral) and Deputy Head (Wellbeing), to ensure the highest standard of pastoral care for students through an effective system to support the physical, mental, and social wellbeing of the pupils.
- To be involved in the Safeguarding team as and when required.
- To lead any assemblies as required
- To monitor attendance and punctuality as appropriate, along with teachers and Heads of Year and contact parents if either of these becomes a concern.
- To have good lines of communication with the parents/guardians as appropriate

Skills, Qualifications and Experience- A university Batchelors degree
- At least 3 years in a leadership role in an educational setting
- Expertise in SEND, EAL, and Learning Support with the ability to lead inclusive practices across the school.
- Ability to contribute to whole-school strategy, set clear goals, and lead initiatives that improve student outcomes.
- Skilled in managing and mentoring staff, leading CPD, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Strong understanding of how to support teachers in delivering inclusive, differentiated, and high-quality learning experiences.
- Proficient in analysing student data to track progress, guide interventions, and inform school improvement.
- Commitment to safeguarding, pastoral support, and promoting the holistic development of all learners.
- Understanding and promotion of Qatari national identity and values, with strong community and parental engagement.
