A rare Pastoral Leader role in a lovely secondary school.
Your new school
Lift Winton is a popular secondary school with fantastic facilities and a great reputation within the local community. With that said, we continue to be ambitious and want to become the best school in Hampshire. The school has recently appointed a new Principal, Myles Preston, who brings with him over ten years of experience in both teaching and leadership roles. Myles is passionate about the prospect of working with and leading a fantastic community of likeminded staff who understand the potential that an excellent education has in unlocking doors for young people and who are dedicated to joining a school on a rapid journey of improvement. If you are ambitious, energetic and have a 'get stuck in' attitude, this could be the role for you. We are in the process of building a vision and a set of values to drive our school forward, and want to hear from people who are excited about the prospect of working with us to ensure our school is a high performing school in terms of outcomes, but also a school which places community and care at the forefront of all that we do.
Your new role
As Pastoral Leader you will be responsible for the leadership and management of our Reset and Reflection room, with a focus on building relationships with our students and setting them up for success and a return to their lessons. You will work closely with our Heads of Year and our Senior Leadership team to ensure support for our most vulnerable students, and play a key role in supporting them pastorally to succeed. You will promote and support positive behaviour and high levels of attendance from students, and develop and deliver strategies to improve pastoral care across their school. You will liaise with students, staff, teachers, families, and agencies where required, and will support teachers to provide consistent pastoral care to students within their class.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience in motivating students and promoting high expectations with students alongside using data to analyse performance, track progress, and inform decision making. You will be able to think creatively and innovatively and use effective behaviour management strategies combined with high expectations of students' behaviour as you are working with students who have difficulty in expressing themselves and may frequently be unable to control their frustrations.
We offer you:
Comprehensive training: Access to some of the best developmental training to boost your career.
Generous benefits: From your pension plan to healthcare and financial support, we've got you covered.
Lifestyle perks: Enjoy discounted gym memberships, travel deals, and much more.
Please don't wait until the closing date to apply as we will review applications and interview as we receive them.
