Main Duties - Lead and manage the IT operations team, including the Network & Security Manager and Lead Technician.
- Oversee the delivery of IT support services to approximately 1,800 users (students and staff), ensuring high levels of service and user satisfaction.
- Act as the final point of escalation for complex (Tier 3) technical issues.
- Manage the school's Microsoft 365 environment and devices,
- Maintain and develop the College Network and cloud-first infrastructure..
- Take ownership of cybersecurity, including firewall management and safeguarding systems.
- Work with the Director to implement the digital strategy and identify opportunities for innovation.
- Manage day-to-day IT purchasing and supplier relationships, ensuring value for money and alignment with school needs.
- Ensure appropriate staffing of the helpdesk during operational hours and contribute to the out-of-hours on-call rota.
- Uphold the school's safeguarding responsibilities in all aspects of IT provision.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications Personal Attributes - Proven experience in a senior IT support or infrastructure role, ideally within an education setting.
- Experience managing or mentoring technical teams.

Technical Skills, Experience and Requirements The post holder will be required to have a working knowledge of:
- Experience managing enterprise-grade networks, ideally Cisco LAN environments
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (especially Teams, OneNote, SharePoint, Exchange Online)
- Familiarity with managing mixed device environments (iPads, Windows laptops, Surfaces)
- Experience with Entra ID (Azure AD) and cloud-based identity management.
- Proven responsibility for cybersecurity, including firewall management and safeguarding systems.
- MS Windows operating systems.
- Familiarity with VMware or other virtualisation platforms.
- Experience with system monitoring tools and scripting for automation (e.g. PowerShell).
Desirable Technical Skills Requirements - Certifications in Microsoft (e.g. MS-100, MS-101), Cisco (e.g. CCNA), VMware, ITIL.
- Understanding of IT support in a boarding school or extended-hours environment.
Terms and Conditions Salary £55,000-65,000 depending on experience.
Hours 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.
The IT department core hours are 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday. The department is "manned" during this time by a member of the IT staff. There will be a shared rota of working: 8am - 4pm, 9am - 5pm, 10am - 6pm.
Saturday morning 8.30am - 12.30pm on a rota
term time only, expected to be around 3 Saturday mornings per term.
In addition, to be a member of the out of hours IT support rota
term time only Monday to Friday: 18:00 - 22:00, Saturday 12:30 - 22:00, Sunday and Bank Holidays: 08:00 - 22:00
Holidays The holiday entitlement is 28 days paid holiday per annum inclusive of bank holidays and increasing by 1 day per annum to a maximum of 33 days per annum inclusive of bank holidays on 5 years service plus bank holidays
Pension The College operates the Epsom College Automatic Enrolment Scheme. The Scheme is administered by the Pensions Trust. Eligibility is based on statutory criteria. If eligible, the Employee will be required to contribute a minimum of 5% of Basic Salary and the College will contribute 4% in compliance with current legislation
