Job Overview
We are excited to announce we are recruiting within our Senior Management team (SMT) for an Assistant Head (Lower School). This is a key role in the leading and organising the day-to-day life of pupils in Years 3 to 5 whilst contributing to the management of the whole school through the SMT. This role is integral to Winchester House school’s development for the future, ensuring our continual drive for excellence each step of the way.
You will provide strong line management and leadership to your team and act as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead providing day to day pastoral support to the Lower School. You will organise Lower School events and manage Lower School tutor groups.
We are looking for a qualified teacher with leadership experience, knowledge of Key Stage 2 curriculum, and the ability to motivate both pupils and colleagues. Calm, collaborative, positive and flexible, you’ll be ready to set the pace for excellence. You will have strong communication skills and pride yourself on professional integrity. You will have an enthusiasm for the holistic education that a Prep School education should provide, ensuring the needs of the pupil always come first.
Winchester House School
Winchester House School was founded in 1875 and moved to its present 18-acre site in the centre of Brackley in 1922. The heart of the School is situated in Manor House, an attractive building dating from the early 1800s. Winchester House comprises a fully co-educational nursery, pre-prep and preparatory school, offering an outstanding education to children aged 3-13 with day, occasional and weekly boarding available. In January 2021, Winchester House School became part of The Stowe Group.
