About the Role As Assistant Principal, you will play a central role in the strategic leadership of the Academy, working closely with the Principal and Deputy Principal and assuming leadership responsibilities in their absence. Through your specialist area of responsibility Raising Standards and Attainment, you will drive whole-school improvement and lead initiatives that raise achievement and enhance student experience. You will play a key role in curriculum development, teaching standards, staff development, and inclusion, ensuring that our values and ethos are reflected in every adult-student interaction and that Every Child Matters outcomes are met. As a champion of innovation, you will contribute to the ongoing transformation of our learning community, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and high aspiration.
Key Responsibilities Include: - Be a key member of the senior leadership team, driving whole-school improvement
- Lead on areas such as teaching & learning, curriculum development, behaviour and/or personal development, depending on experience
- Play a crucial role in improving outcomes, particularly for disadvantaged and EAL learners
- Inspire, support, and challenge staff and students alike to reach their full potential
- Leading the strategic development and delivery of an engaging, impactful curriculum
- Driving standards and ensuring excellent pupil progress across the academy
- Leading and modelling outstanding classroom practice
- Supporting and developing staff through effective leadership and professional development
We are looking for a leader who: - Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and working towards a relevant NPQ
- Has experience in a challenging or rapidly improving school environment and demonstrates confident, empowering leadership with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Has a strong, proven record of driving up standards and leading measurable improvements in educational outcomes, attainment, and achievement
- Brings strategic insight, creativity, and a collaborative leadership style
- Excels in communication, strategic planning, and solving complex problems
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and the presence to inspire trust and confidence among staff, students, and families
